The map below uses data collected by Chicago Public Schools to show where the most obese kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade students are located throughout the city. This is based on the most recent data, which was collected for the 2010-2011 school year.
Areas of darkest blue correspond to estimated rates of 27 to 33 percent obesity. The deep blue corresponds to 22 to 26 percent obesity, and the lighter blue corresponds to 17 to 21 percent obesity. The areas of faint blue indicate 12 to 16 percent obesity among Chicago Public School students (source).
